2023 was a very special year for me, in both good and bad. I am going to be completely honest with you, it was though.

23 of march 2023 I was 25 weeks pregnant and working on my semester project everyday. I was really in a perfect creative mode and space! That day I went out 8 in the morning, and I fell down the stairs outside of our house.

I heard a “snap” and a “crack” in my foot, and the pain was … intense. I tried to stand up, but couldn’t. I quickly got worried for my unborn baby, although all I could feel was only pain in my ancle. My husband tried to get me up, but it was impossible to move. The paramedics came and helped me to the hospital, very quickly. There I got the message that I had crushed my ancle with multiple fractions, and I needed surgery that day. On the happy side, everything was very good with my baby and I was thankful for that!

I thought that the recovery would be easy, just a surgery. then maybe a cast for some weeks and then I would be running around. That was not the case. The recovery was extremely difficult and I also got heavier each week because of the progress of the pregnancy. I was not allowed to walk or jump on one foot for 8 weeks, after that I was allowed to use crutches. And it sound easy enough, and kids love playing with crutches. But, let me tell you.. it was pretty hard for months. When my baby girl was born 28 of June 2023 I still used crutches, but I had come a long way with recovery – Luckily.

My beautiful daughter was born and I am so thankful for her and that all ended well at last.

Because of all of this I needed to take my parental leave early and I left the studies for a while to recover and have my baby girl.

Now I am finally back and I am ready to take on my second semester!

I did submit my semester project before summerbreak of 2024, it went well although I did get a B on it. I am happy with that grade, considering all.

I started up in August and I have already delivered my CA for Screenbased Design 1/ UX Design Fundamentals 1. Waiting on the feedback on that.

Next week I will be starting up Photography CA 2, which will be interesting!

I have som catching up to do here on my reflective journal. I’ll be posting from my last CA, my semester schedule and keep my reflective journal updated from now on!
